About

I relish the challenge of capturing fleeting moments that tell a story; of finding beauty in the mundane and intrigue in the everyday.
It all started when I was knee-high to a grasshopper. My family travelled from my hometown of Edinburgh to the west coast of Scotland each year. Vast heather-clad moorlands stretched as far as the eye could see, bursting with potential for exploration. My waking hours would be spent wading through swamps in search of newts, or lifting logs for snakes.
As a big kid, my sense of exploration has not waned. I am now drawn to far flung reaches of the earth to investigate conservation challenges and opportunities. Along the way, I uncover some unusual creatures and fascinating characters. Photography allows me to paint a visual portrait of my experiences.
I am a biologist by training and work with Conservation International to support the protection of amphibians and their habitats around the world. I am a proud Affiliate of the International League of Conservation Photographers and have had my images published by CNN, Conservation International, the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and numerous online publications. I will have a full feature article, with images, appearing in the summer issue of WEND. Oh, and I have twelve of my images as igoogle nature themes.
I invite you to pour yourself a cup of tea and take ten minutes out of your day to share my images and stories.
